Hi there, I’m Laurie Palanza.
I grew up in a very large Italian family on my dad’s side and a much smaller Ukrainian and English/Irish family on my mother’s. We were frequently on one side of town eating homemade macaroni or on the other side of town eating borscht and stuffed cabbage. Eating fresh homemade food and coming together as a family, has been an enormous pleasure for as long as I can remember.
So where was I to go with this rich ethnic background? To the kitchen, of course, where I learned how to cook delicious homemade food. My family taught me the importance of taking meals together and the joy that comes from spending quality time with the people you love. Meals were often followed by a walk in the woods, a day at the beach or an afternoon playing outside.
While healthful food choices are essential to your well-being, there are other factors that are equally as important; maintaining healthy relationships, enjoying a fulfilling career, engaging in regular physical activity and having a spiritual awareness or practice that works for you. My role as a coach is to help you find the balance between the food you eat and the activities that nourish your soul.
I received my training as a health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical and effective lifestyle coaching methods. Drawing on this knowledge, I will help you create a personalized health program that suits your unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals.
